Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy while speaking in the state assembly on Friday (19 July) lamented over his supposed political woes and claimed that anyone else going through something similar would have ended up in a mental hospital by now.
Kumarawamy thus claimed that god’s grace is the only reason why he has not ended up in a mental hospital himself.
He had earlier claimed that during his trip to the US he happened to read the bible in which he learnt that on judgement day there will be no one with him.
As per the directives issued by the state Governor Vajubhai Vala, the trust proceedings need to be culminated by 1.30 PM today (19 July), but Kumaraswamy subsequently made a statement that the Governor cannot interfere in the matters of the state assembly.
He added that Governor has merely made “suggestions” and it is ultimately the speaker’s prerogative whether to accept the Governor’s suggestion or not.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
