Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory, Acting President of Mauritius has announced that ‘Gita Mahotsav’ will be celebrated in the island nation in February 2019. On Thursday, December 13, he addressed a seminar titled ‘Making of Modern India-Insights from Bhagwad Gita’ and added that India will be invited for the event.
The Tribune quoted him as saying, “In the modern age, youth are facing pressures and uncertainty and in the absence of guidance and inspiration, they are heading towards alcoholism, drugs and indulging in unethical activities. In order to give a positive direction to the youth, there is need to preach them the principles of mortality from Bhagwad Gita.”
Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya who was present on the occasion said, “In the age of globalisation, the world is accepting the vision and the message given in Gita.”
Furthermore, Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, said that Gita sent a message for everyone in the society, adding, “After being inspired from the holy book, the prestigious Harvard Business School has carried out research on Bhagwad Gita and also implemented the same.”
