Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ready to rename Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar if it wins the Telangana elections, The Times of India has reported. He made these comments during his rally at Begum Bazar while campaigning for upcoming Telangana Assembly polls.
"BJP has taken up the mantle of establishing Ram Rajya and Telangana too should play a role in this. If you are keen on Hyderabad being renamed as Bhagyanagar, then vote for BJP," Yogi Adityanath said.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister pointed out that many terror attacks in the country had links to Hyderabad and blamed “appeasement politics” as the reason for this trend. He remarked that the Congress feeds Biryani to terrorists while the BJP feeds them with bullets. The BJP had won nine out of 119 Telangana’s Assembly seats in 2014. The party is contesting the assembly elections in Telangana without any allies.
