Coronavirus Update: With 6,088 New Cases, India’s Covid-19 Tally Tops 1.18 Lakh; Here’s The Latest State-Wise Breakup

With record 6,088 new cases in the last 24 hours, India's total case count of coronavirus jumped to 118,447, the Union Health Ministry data revealed on Friday (22 May).
According to the Health Ministry, of the total, 66,330 are active cases while at least 48,534 people have been cured of the disease.
At least 148 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total fatality count to 3,583.
In Maharashtra, the Covid-19 cases climbed to 41,642, followed by Tamil Nadu which has 13,967 cases, and Gujarat with 12,905 cases so far.
Maharashtra has also reported the highest number of deaths, 1,454, followed by 773 in Gujarat and 270 in Madhya Pradesh.
The Covid-19 cases in Delhi have increased to 11,659, according to the Health Ministry data.
States which have reported more than 5,000 cases are Rajasthan (6,227), Madhya Pradesh (5,981), and Uttar Pradesh (5,515).
