A woman journalist attempted a journey to Sabarimala Temple after broadcasting her move on social media had been blocked by the protesters and sent back, reports The News Minute.
The woman named Libi CS faced the heat of devotees when she entered Pathanamthitta bus stand, dressed as a typical devotee wearing black, with a small smear of ash on her forehead. In her posts on social media, she claimed “Friends, four of us are leaving to Sabarimala today, which includes atheists like me and two devotees. I am not going to Sabarimala because I have any wish to do so.”
Libi, a journalist and editor of a news website called Newsgil. She had earlier published a story on her website which said that if Ayyappa’s lust was awakened because of women devotees entering the temple, they would prescribe medicine.
Several groups in Kerala had called for an FIR against the journalist for a series of slanderous posts against the shrine.
The Police formed a protective ring around the woman and escorted her to a police van, which drove away from the bus stand.
