In a major development, India has become the first nation in the world to have digitised the entire process for the Haj 2020 pilgrimage, reports Asian News International (ANI).
A stream of digital applications have been operationalised by the Government of India's Ministry for Minority Affairs to ensure that the pilgrims for the 2020 Haj pilgrimage get to experience a hassle-free and easy digital process.
The announcement of the development was made by Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, who shared that an online e-visa application, a Haj mobile application, a health facility application called 'e-MAHISA' and an application for 'e-luggage pre-tagging' providing all information about accommodation and transportation will be provided to two lakh Indian Muslims going for pilgrimage in 2020.
Minister Naqvi also shared that the Government has established a 100 line information centre at the Haj House in Mumbai so as to provide all kinds of information about the process for Haj pilgrimage.
