Following air strikes by the Indian Air Force deep into the Pakistani territory, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Churu, Rajasthan on Tuesday (26 February), wherein he assured Indians that the nation is in safe hands, DD News has reported.

While addressing the rally, PM Modi also invoked a famous couplet from his poem which goes:

Saugandh Mujhe Is Mitti Ke, Main Desh Nahin Mitne Dunga

Main Desh Nahin Rukne Dunga, Main Desh Nahin Jhukne Dunga

The speech by Modi was well received by the crowd, which didn’t shy away from expressing jubilation. Modi also added that there is nothing bigger than India and saluted everyone working towards its development.

Earlier in the day, Modi had paid a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi while honouring the recipients of the Gandhi peace prize.

Twelve Mirage 2000s of the Indian Air Force (IAF), crossed the Line of Control (LoC) to enter Pakistan Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province in the cover of darkness at about 3.30 am on Tuesday (26 February).

As per Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale, a large number of terrorists, commanders, trainers and those trained for fedayeen attacks, have been neutralised. He also revealed that the camp was being run by JeM supremo Masood Azhar’s brother-in-law Maulana Yusuf Azhar.
