A 34-year-old man managed to fly all the way from Delhi to Kolkata via Guwahati despite being Covid-19 positive and ultimately pulled out the report from his pocket to get admitted into institutional quarantine.
As per a Times Now report, the man a resident of North 24 Parganas landed in Kolkata at around 5 PM on 14 July and asked the authorities to put him in institutional quarantine.
The authorities refused claiming that he was not displaying symptoms like fever. The flyer meanwhile kept insisting and claimed that he is suffering from cough.
After his request kept falling on deaf ears, he suddenly pulled out a Covid-19 positive report from his pocket leading to frantic moments at the airport.
He was subsequently taken to a Covid-19 centre in Newtown. The authorities are now tracking down the passengers who had flown with him on the two flights as part of contact tracing measures.
