A report prepared by intelligence officials and the police department in Uttar Pradesh claims that Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is providing support to the Bhim Sena, Times Of India has reported. According to the newspaper, which claims to have a copy of this report, Mayawati’s brother, who is under I-T scanner over alleged benami property, is funding this organisation and its leaders.

"The Bhim Sena is being supported by the BSP and it has also come to light that the national vice-president of the party and its chief Mayawati's brother Anand Kumar is funding the fledgling Dalit outfit," the report reads. According to this report, the organisation has also received support from the Left.

Meanwhile, fresh clashes erupted in Saharanpur after Mayawati's visit. One person was killed in these clashes and several others injured.

Clashes erupted after Mayawati, addressing a rally in Saharanpur's Shabbirpur village, held the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Uttar Pradesh Government for creating a rift between the Dalits and the Rajputs and claimed her party ruled the state four times but "didn't let a single episode of communal violence happen (sic)”.

Responding to these claims on Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appealed to the people of the state to not to pay heed to any inflammatory speeches spread by “certain elements”. He condemned the recent clashes and said that strict action will be taken against the culprits irrespective of the community they belong to. The state government also announced to give compensation of Rs. 15 lakhs to relatives of the person who was killed during this incident.
