Two terrorists have been neutralised by security forces in the Sopore area of Baramulla, Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) today (30 May), reports The Hindu. The identities or the allegiance of the terrorists have as of yet not been ascertained.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the spot of the encounter by the troops.
"The bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter. The identities and affiliation of the killed terrorists is being ascertained," said a police official.
The encounter took place following a cordon and search operation which itself was triggered following local inputs on the presence of insurgents in the area.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
