President Droupadi Murmu has reached Coimbatore to take part in the Shivaratri programme organised by the Isha Foundation. Governor RN Ravi and Tamil Nadu's Minister for Information Technology, Mano Thangaraj are also attending the event.
She commenced her two-day visit to the state by having darshan at the Meenakshi Sundareswarar temple in Madurai, this afternoon (18 February).
While the Shivaratri celebrations at the Isha Foundation's campus is a night-long programme, President Murmu would leave after a few hours and stay at the Circuit House for the night.
The next morning (19 February), she would visit the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington (Nilgiris district), before she leaves for New Delhi.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
