Committed to take Sanskrit language to the masses in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath government has taught simple Sanskrit to more than 6,500 people in three months.
These people, who could not understand the language, are now speaking daily useful words in Sanskrit.
A spokesman of the state government said that while the missed call scheme of the Sanskrit institute is increasing the interest of the people towards Sanskrit, the enrolment number of Sanskrit learners has increased continuously.
A total of 17,480 people were registered for the first level Sanskrit language teaching in the last three months. Of these, 6,434 people were educated through 132 online classes.
This training was given through virtual classes of one hour each day, for 20 days completely free of cost.
Doctors, engineers, businessmen, students or any person in job profession can take free training to speak, read and learn Sanskrit.
Notably, the promotion of Sanskrit language in Uttar Pradesh is assuming new propositions and the Uttar Pradesh government is also trying to rope in foreigners to learn and study the Vedic language.
The state government, which is engaged in making the youth of the state aware of the importance of Sanskrit, has taken many steps to promote the language.
Along with Hindi and English, arrangements are now being made by the state government to give training to every child in the Sanskrit language.
Dr Vachaspati Mishra, the President of UP Sanskrit Sansthan, had earlier stated that the students who want to study Sanskrit will also be imparted information about the moral values along with the knowledge of Sanskrit.
"It is a novel effort of the government to teach Sanskrit through free classes along with Hindi and English," he said.
