The Supreme Court on Friday (23 May) granted interim bail to jailed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain on medical grounds.
An apex court vacation bench of Justices J K Maheshwari and P S Narasimha, while hearing the bail plea of the jailed AAP leaders, said that Jain will be on interim medical bail till 11 July and permitted him to undergo treatment at a private hospital.
The bench added that Jain shall not go to the media "to make any statement on any issue" and that he shall not attempt to influence the witnesses.
This comes a day after the AAP leader, who has been in Tihar Jail since May last year following his arrest on money laundering charges, was hospitalised and later shifted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after he collapsed in the bathroom of the high-security prison.
The Court also said that Jain should produce all papers relating to the treatment taken by him when he is out on interim bail.
The matter will be heard again on 10 July.
