Delhi's Rouse Avenue court on Wednesday (10 January) extended the judicial custody of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh until 20 January in the liquor policy scam case, Jagran reported.

Interestingly, another co-accused Sarvesh Mishra was given interim bail and was asked to apply for regular bail. He was given consideration for his father's ill health who is currently admitted at Gurugram hospital.

Earlier too, the Supreme Court had granted bail to Benoy Babu, another accused in the Delhi liquor policy case and an official associated with the liquor giant Pernod Ricard, while Sisodia was denied bail.

Recently, Sanjay Singh was allowed by the court to file a nomination for the Rajya Sabha election from Delhi by physically visiting the returning officer on 8 and 10 January.

Singh's current term as a Member of the Rajya Sabha is set to expire on 27 January 2024. He was arrested on 4 October 2023 over money laundering charges.

In February 2023, Sisodia was arrested by the CBI for alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the excise policy. Subsequently, the ED arrested him on 9 March from Delhi's Tihar Jail. According to the CBI, Sisodia played a crucial role in the criminal conspiracy.
