Delhi To Get Rs 821 Crore From Centre For Key Infrastructure Projects

The Central government has approved a special assistance package of Rs 821.26 crore for Delhi to fund key infrastructure initiatives, reported The Indian Express.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the funds would support developments in health, education, housing, transport, drinking water, and power sectors.

According to Gupta, the Centre has already released 66 per cent of the sanctioned amount as the first instalment.

She stated that the funding falls under the Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) 2025–26.

Of the total sanctioned amount, Rs 716 crore under Part-I will be allocated to 33 major infrastructure projects.

Additionally, Rs 105.26 crore under Part-III will go towards the Priority Corridor of the MRTS (Mass Rapid Transit System) Phase-IV.

Expressing gratitude to central leaders, Gupta posted on X, “I wholeheartedly express my gratitude to PM Shri @narendramodi ji, Home Minister Shri @AmitShah ji, and Finance Minister Smt. @nsitharaman ji for approving a special assistance amount of Rs 821.26 crore to strengthen Delhi’s infrastructure. This funding will support 33 projects.”

She also stated that this approval lays a “strong foundation for realising the vision of a developed Delhi.”

Gupta added that her administration remains committed to seeking more funds to ensure Delhi’s comprehensive development.

The announcement comes amid the ongoing relocation of slum dwellers, with the Chief Minister assuring that her government will ensure justice and equitable development for all sections of the population.
