Government To Set Up Committee To Tackle Population Growth, Demographic Changes: Nirmala Sitharaman

Presenting the interim Budget 2024, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday (1 February) announced that a high-powered committee will be set up for "extensive consideration" of challenges due to demographic changes.
"The government will form a high-powered committee for an extensive consideration of challenges arising from fast population growth and demographic changes," FM Nirmala Sitharaman said.
"The committee will be mandated to make recommendations for addressing these challenges comprehensively in relation to the goal of 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India)," She added.
Expressing confidence that Narendra Modi government will be elected again in the upcoming national elections, the Finance Minister said, "In the full Budget in July, our government will present a detailed roadmap for our pursuit of Viksit Bharat".
