Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Tuesday (17 June) the preparations being made for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra.
All of these preparations would be overseen by ministers, district magistrates (DMs), and chairpersons of the district development committee (DDC), reported The Indian Express.
CM Gupta stated that a single-window system will facilitate all permissions for Kanwar camps and committees and address grievances.
The CM emphasised the government's commitment to the pilgrimage, saying, “Kanwar Yatra is a festival of faith, devotion, and discipline, and the government will take every possible step to make it smooth and efficient… It will extend full support to these committees in ensuring the provision of electricity, water, medicines, sanitation, and other necessary amenities.”
The Chief Minister also criticised the previous AAP government, noting, “Despite crores of rupees being spent earlier, Shiv bhakts faced numerous difficulties. This time, we will not let that happen… Necessary permissions will be granted through the single-window system. We will make the entire system transparent so that Kanwar committees can get full benefit from government support.”
