šŸŽ™ļø New Episode Is Out!

EP92: Jammu and Kashmir elections
EP92: Jammu and Kashmir elections

On today's What This Means, we discuss the latest developments in Jammu and Kashmir with our guest, Sunanda Vashisht, following the announcement of poll dates.

The elections will take place in three phases: 18 September (24 seats), 25 September (26 seats), and 1 October (40 seats). And the election politics have already begun!

But given the current situation, should there even be an election in J&K?

The National Conference's vice-president, Omar Abdullah, has already released his party's manifesto, claiming that his party will restore Article 370 and 35(A) and push for India-Pakistan dialogue. But how?

What's interesting, however, is that Mehbooba Mufti's PDP seems to be weak, even in their stronghold pockets in the valley. Does that mean the valley is all open for NC?

What kind of pre-poll and post-poll alliances can we expect in J&K? And lastly, what's the one thing we should keep our eyes on?

Sunanda Vashisht answers it all in this episode. Tune in below:
