Pro-Khalistan slogans were discovered painted on walls near Mata Chintpurni Temple in Himachal Pradesh's Una district on Wednesday (29 November), prompting the police to launch an investigation into the incident, as reported by The New Indian Express.
Meanwhile, a video featuring Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the chief of the banned organisation Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), surfaced on the Internet.
In the video, Pannun showcased the graffiti on the walls and asserted that Congress leaders allegedly involved in the 1984 Sikh riots would not go unpunished.
Una's Superintendent of Police, Arjit Sen Thakur, stated that investigations are in progress, and efforts are underway to apprehend the individuals responsible for the act.
This is not the first instance of such incidents in the state.
On 7 May of the previous year, pro-Khalistan banners and graffiti appeared on the outer boundary of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly in Dharamshala.
A case has been registered in this matter under sections 153-A and 153-B of the IPC, along with section 3 of the HP Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act, 1985.
Pannun was identified as a co-accused and the main conspirator in this case based on the video clip, and he has been booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
