The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet on Tuesday (2 September) approved two important policies aimed at attracting investment and boosting exports in the state, the Hindustan Times reported.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presided over the meeting that approved the UP Export Promotion Policy (2025-2030) and UP Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy 2025.

The new export promotion policy will significantly increase financial support for businesses.

The incentives will rise from the current Rs 25-30 crore per year to Rs 180 crore annually, marking a six-fold increase.

According to Additional Chief Secretary Alok Kumar, the state treasury will have to shoulder an extra Rs 882 crore in costs over the next five years as a result of this expansion.

The export policy aims to provide financial help to exporters for participating in international exhibitions and buyer-seller meetings.

The Yogi government wants to increase the number of exporters by 50 per cent by 2030.

The policy also ensures that all districts in the state can participate in export activities, helping to reduce regional differences.

The electronics manufacturing policy focuses on manufacturing electronic components instead of just assembling them.

Principal Secretary Anurag Yadav said Uttar Pradesh now has 300 electronic goods manufacturing units, showing unprecedented growth in the sector.

He said Uttar Pradesh’s policy would complement the Centre’s policy and would remain in force for next five years.

The new electronics policy will support the manufacturing of high-value components like display modules, camera modules, mobile batteries, and manufacturing machines.

The Noida region, which is already a hub for mobile manufacturing, will particularly benefit from this policy.
