Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that Assam will withdraw all COIVD-related restrictions from February 15. The decision has been taken as the number of cases have been declining and the overall pandemic situation has improved.
School board examinations, municipal elections, and the by-elections to the Majuli assembly constituency will be held in the next two months, Sarma announced at a press conference.
He however flagged that students appearing for board examinations must get both doses of the vaccination.
There will be no night curfew. Cinema halls and malls will open with full capacity, and weddings can be held through the night but guests must be double vaccinated, he added.
Wearing masks will be mandatory in all places.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
