All the announced power cuts across Uttar Pradesh have been halted till 22 June after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's instructions, reports Amar Ujala.
In a bid to address the concerns raised by the Chief Minister, UP Power Corporation chairman M Devraj has issued to stop power cuts till 22 June.
The order emphasises that no government department would be facilitate a power shutdown for the developmental projects.
Earlier this week, CM Yogi visited Gorakhpur as part of a two-day tour during which he held a review meeting on Monday (12 June) evening, where he instructed the Chief Engineer of the Power Corporation to ensure a complete cessation of power cuts under any circumstances.
The Chief Minister had reportedly said that extreme heatwave conditions have been prevailing in the state and therefore, no power cuts should be done.
Subsequently, the chairman of the Power Corporation issued the order from the Power Bhawan in Lucknow on Tuesday afternoon.
In line with the Chairman's directive, Ashu Kalia, the Chief Engineer of the Gorakhpur region, has ordered a complete halt on power cuts in all districts under the jurisdiction of the region.
A shutdown, if necessary, will only be implemented under the direct instructions of the Chief Engineer for essential tasks.
