The sweeper lady who discovered the dead body of two and a half year old Twinkle Sharma says that she is now receiving threats from local Muslims who are accusing her of taking bribes for disposing the body.
In a video-clip of the interview by journalist Swati Goel Sharma, the lady says that she is now being targeted by the Muslim community which is accusing her of taking a Rs 50,000 bribe for throwing the body at the particular spot and then feigning discovery.
Attn @aligarhpolice, I must bring this to your notice. The sweeper who spotted the body in #AligarhChildMurder is being threatened by local Muslims. After vehemently denying the allegations, the lady said that Muslims have turned against her and she also fears for the safety of her family.
Following her ordeal, social media users have appealed to the Aligarh police to provide her adequate security.
It was earlier reported that, angry locals in Aligarh’s Tappal have questioned why one of the co-accused Aslam was roaming free despite having a history of assaulting minors. Various Hindu organisations have also begun taking out protest marches demanding justice for the brutal murder.
