The Delhi Police special cell on Monday (7 December) arrested five terrorists in the national capital including two Khalistani terrorists and as a result averted a major terror plot.

As per TOI journalist Raj Shekhar Jha, the three remaining terrorists hail from Kashmir and two of them have been identified as Mohammed Ayub and Shabbir.

He adds that the terror module busted by the cops had carried out the assassination of Shaurya Chakra awardee Balwinder Singh in Punjab in October. The terrorists were reportedly planning something similar in Delhi.

Singh was shot dead by bike borne assailants in Tarn Taran, three months after his security was withdrawn by the state government. Jha has now reported that the assassination has now been dubbed as an act of terror - with the killers having been identified as Gurjeet Singh and Sukhdeep Singh.

As per reports, the five terrorists were nabbed by the cops after an exchange of gunfire. Weapons and incriminating documents have been recovered from them.
