Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has earned appreciation from Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar for effectively using power to conduct development-related works.
The two senior politicians were sharing the stage at a function in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra.
Over there, Pawar expressed that there have been several instances of no work taking place on a project following its inauguration. However, he said that the work begins on Gadkari’s initiatives within a few days of the stone-laying ceremony.
“I am attending this function because I was told that Gadkari was going to inaugurate many projects in Ahmednagar which would solve long-pending issues of the city, and he wants me to be present,” Pawar was quoted as saying in a report by the Times of India (TOI).
The Rajya Sabha MP further mentioned that Gadkari is a ‘great example’ of the work that a public representative can do for the country’s development.
“I remember that before Gadkari took over this responsibility (of the ministry of road transport and highways), about 5,000 km of work had been done. But after he took over, the figure has crossed 12,000 km,” Pawar further added.
Meanwhile, Gadkari recommended Maharashtra’s rural development minister Hasan Mushrif to focus upon water conservation in the Ahmednagar district.
