Shiv Sena MLA in the Maharashtra Assembly Sanjay Gaikwad yesterday (19 April) said that had he have found coronavirus, he would have stuffed it in the mouth of the former chief minister (CM) and the incumbent Leader of Opposition (LoP) Devendra Fadnavis, reports Livemint.
Gaikwad's statement came at a time when the ruling establishment is targeting Fadnavis for objecting to Mumbai Police's move to grill the director of a pharmaceutical company for stocking vials of Remdesivir.
Gaikwad's assertion drew a sharp reaction from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s workers who staged protests against him in his home constituency of Buldhana and burnt down his effigy.
In addition to this, BJP's state unit's vice president Sanjay Kute also shot back pressing that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) leaders are using indecent language against the Centre and Fadnavis to mislead the people of the State.
Kute also added that this issue is over for the party and that the BJP shall aggressively raise the failures of the MVA Government.
It should also be noted that as per Kute, following his presser his vehicle was stoned and attacked by alleged supporters of Gaikwad.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
