The Indian Army on Wednesday (23 December) released pictures of Army Chief General M M Naravane's visit to the forward areas of Fire & Fury Corps as part of his first-hand assessment of situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
Here are the pictures published by ANI from his visit.
As per senior defence journalist Shiv Aroor, these pictures clearly show elements from tank formation which have been deployed by the Indian Army since July.
It was earlier reported that the Indian Army has deployed its T-90 and T-72 tanks along BMP-2 Infantry Combat Vehicles along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China amid tensions between the two nations.
It had also shared a video of these tanks.

These combat vehicles are capable of operating in temperatures up to minus 40 degree Celsius and assume significance amid the onset of winter in the region.
General Naravane today (23 December) landed in Leh for a one day visit to the Fire and Fury Corps which included him inspecting areas including Rechin La. There he was briefed by He was also briefed by GOC, Fire & Fury Corps and other local commanders on operational preparedness.
He also conducted spot inspection of the state of habitat of troops on the forward line of defences at Rechin La and appreciated the efforts made by the formation to make troops comfortable along the LAC.
