Abhishek Banerjee, the controversial nephew of Mamata Banerjee has been quoted mocking Lord Ram by claiming that his ‘TRP’ dipping in the state of West Bengal, ANI has reported.
This statement was in response to BJP Bengal Chief Dilip Ghosh coining the slogan “Jai Maha Kali, Jai Shri Ram” for the party’s campaign slogans in the state.
Banerjee was quoted as saying during a rally on Tuesday (4 June) that, “People told me that Dilip Ghosh (state BJP president) has asked to raise slogans of Jai Maa Kali along with Jai Shri Ram. I told them that Mamata Banerjee was there so that is why Ram's TRP has suddenly gone down and Ma Kali's TRP is going up”.
This statement by Mamata’s nephew comes after the Trinamool chief herself has been recorded suffering a meltdown after encountering Jai Shri Ram slogans being raised in Bhatpara. Mamata has also reportedly instructed her state intelligence agencies to map areas where she is likely to encounter the said slogan.
