The Trinamool-led West Bengal government is going to bump up the Ad-hoc bonus to its minority employees prior to Eid, reports DNA. This means that those employees with monthly salaries of Rs 30,000 will be paid Rs 4,000 extra, compared to Rs 3,800 in the previous year, reports DNA.
The practice of handing out bonuses to state government employees was first introduced by the Left-front government.
The disbursement of the ad-hoc bonuses in case of Muslim employees of the state government will take place prior to Eid, while for other state government workers the disbursement will happen in the window between 23 September to 1 October this year.
The ceiling for upper eligibility remains at Rs 30,000 for all employees, and will be applicable similarly for either pre-revised pay scale and fixed consolidated pay.
Previously, as well as the Mamata Banerjee-led government of the state has implemented extra monetary sops for the Muslim minority, with Imams and Muezzins of mosques receiving stipends direction from the state government.
