The girl named Elangbam Valentina Devi from Manipur's Kakching district had planted two gulmohar saplings which had grown to become full trees near her house. However, for the purpose of widening of the road, the trees had to be felled.

Upon watching the video of the girl crying, Singh also promised the girl of a series of plantation drives by the state government. The locals from the region have thereafter been heralding the nine-year-old girl as a ray of hope.

As the ambassador of the state government's mission for a green Manipur, Valentina will be part of all advertisements and campaigns which would be aimed to promote the green cover in the state.
