Varun Gandhi, who was known as "Sultanpur ka Gandhi" in 2014, is leading from his 2019 constituency, Pilibhit. He is ahead by 94,034 votes. Hemraj Verma of Samajwadi Party who is representing Mahagathbandhan is trailing.
Varun's contest is considered easier than his mother Maneka Gandhi's in Sultanpur. This time, seats were swapped for the son and mother with the hope to see the senior Gandhi of the BJP duo emerge strong in the triangular fight. Leading with a slight edge a while ago, she is trailing again against the Mahagathbandhan, where Sanjay Singh of Congress seems to have been pushed down to the third slot.
Varun Gandhi is fighting against another candidate named Varun Gandhi in his constituency.
Menaka Gandhi was in the news for her controversial comments in her constituency.
In Mathura, sitting MP Hema Malini is leading by 90,009 votes, leaving Rashtriya Lok Dal candidate behind. Her gallop powered by Modi magic is backed by her work on the ground, her glamorous presence in the constituency, and by the prominence of her constituency as Krishnabhoomi in Yogi Adityanath-ruled Uttar Pradesh.
