Ace actor and politician Rajinikanth's Makkal Mandram (People's Forum) is supplying water free of cost to people of North Chennai reeling under water scarcity in the summer season.
The Mandram is supplying 2 lakh litres of water daily free of cost for the past 15 days.
Rajini, who refused to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, launched the Makkal Mandram last year to channel his fan following into constructive social political work. Recently, the veteran film star called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a ‘charismatic leader’.
"All over India, there is a pro-Modi wave. In Tamil Nadu, there is an anti-Modi wave. In politics, those who swim against the wave, are washed away. Those who swam with the current have won,” actor-turned-politician Rajinikanth, told reporters about the Lok Sabha election.
Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth also confirmed that he has received an invite to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister’s second term and that he would be travelling to New Delhi soon.
