Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is all set to celebrate Diwali in Ayodhya, the land of Lord Rama. Adityanath will visit Ayodhya on 18 October and attend the grand Diwali celebrations at Saryu Ghat.
Speaking on the preparations for the same to ANI, Manoj Kumar Mishra, DC Faizabad, said, "Security has been beefed up in all parts of the city, especially the sensitive areas. Our intelligence sources are also alert. Keeping in mind that this is Diwali time, it will also be ensured that there is no problem to the general public."
The plan is to make Ayodhya synonymous with Diwali; just as Barsana is known for its Holi, he added. Yesterday, the Chief Minister told ANI that his government is organising a special event on Diwali in Ayodhya and it will be a world-class event. The objective of organising this event is to promote Ayodhya as a tourist hotspot.
According to News18, this is the first time that the UP government is organising a grand function on Diwali in Ayodhya.
During his stay in Ayodhya, Adityanath will also perform the grand aarti of River Saryu, followed by the lighting of lamps. (ANI)

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
