The Indian Navy has announced a new computer based entrance test for Officer entry called INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test). The exam will happen parallel to the Combined Defence Services exam, University Entry Scheme and National Defence Academy and Naval Academy exam, reports India Today.
"Indian Navy introduces Indian Navy Entrance Test (Officers) for all graduate entries. INET (Officers) shall be conducted twice a year from 19 September. University Entry Scheme (UES) & Combined Defence Services (CDS) entries to continue as hitherto," was tweeted by the Indian Navy spokesperson on their account.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) which organises both the Combined Defence Services exam, National Defence Academy, will also conduct this exam, and the Services Selection Board will conduct the interviews.
The entrance shall be held along with the University Entry Scheme (UES), Combined Defence Services (CDS), Naval Academy exam and National Defence Academy.
