In a significant move aimed at enhancing affordable healthcare accessibility across India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled an ambitious initiative to increase the number of Jan Aushadhi Kendras, which provide medicines at subsidised rates, from the existing 10,000 to an impressive 25,000.

The announcement came during the interaction with beneficiaries of the 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra' via video conferencing.

As reported by The Hindu, the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, a nationwide endeavor, is focused on achieving the saturation of key government schemes by ensuring the timely delivery of benefits to all targeted beneficiaries.

During the event, PM Modi not only inaugurated the program to increase the number of Jan Aushadhi Kendras but also dedicated the landmark 10,000th center at AIIMS, Deoghar.

In addition to this healthcare boost, the Prime Minister also launched the 'Drone Didi Yojana.'

This scheme aims to empower 15,000 selected women Self Help Groups between 2024-25 and 2025-2026 by providing them with drones.

The drones will be utilised to offer rental services to farmers for agricultural purposes, contributing to increased efficiency and productivity in the farming sector.
