Gujarat Sanctions Rs 7,737 Crore For 124 Infrastructure Projects To Strengthen Road Network Across The State

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel recently approved a Rs 7,737 crore investment for 124 infrastructure projects across Gujarat, an initiative, aimed at building a seamless and modern road network under the 'Viksit Gujarat mission'.

Of the total allocation, Rs 5,576 crore has been earmarked for constructing nine Garvi Gujarat High-Speed Corridors spanning 809 km.

The new corridors are designed to improve safety, speed, and mobility along high-traffic routes, offering faster and more efficient transport links under the PM Gati Shakti framework.

Among the key routes approved are the Bagodara–Dhandhuka–Barwala–Botad corridor (Rs 67.43 crore), the Unjha–Patan–Shihori–Deodar–Bhabhar route (Rs 858.39 crore), and the Dehgam–Bayad–Lunawada–Santrampur–Zalod corridor (Rs 1,514.41 crore).

Other approved stretches include Ahmedabad–Harsol–Gambhoi–Vijayanagar, Santrampur–Morwa Hadaf–Santroad, and Santroad–Devgadh Baria–Chhota Udepur.

The Chief Minister has also sanctioned Rs 1,147 crore for 20 climate resilient and technologically advanced road projects covering 271 km.

These projects will use innovative techniques such as white topping, geo-grid and glass grid reinforcement, cement stabilisation, fly ash, and waste plastic to enhance durability, sustainability, and cost efficiency.

In addition, Rs 986 crore has been approved for 79 projects aimed at improving the surface quality of 803 km of state roads.

This year’s budget outlined 12 new high-speed corridors under the Garvi Gujarat initiative with approval already given to nine of them.

The upgraded corridors are expected to reduce travel time, enhance logistics efficiency, promote tourism, and stimulate economic activity across Gujarat.
