The two-day Rising North East Investors Summit 2025 concluded on Saturday (24 May) with investment proposals worth Rs 4.3 lakh crore.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the summit on 23 May.
In his valedictory address, Union Minister of Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia said that Northeast has emerged as a hub of global partnership and mutual interest.
The minister informed that the Rising North East Investors Summit 2025 drew an unprecedented Rs 4.3 lakh crore in investment interest, setting the stage for the Northeast Region (NER) to become India’s next economic powerhouse, according to a Ministry of Development of North-East Region statement.
“We welcomed delegations from over 80 countries — from Japan to Europe to ASEAN nations, and there was one unanimous sentiment: India’s future lies in Northeast," Scindia said.
He credited the transformation to Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, stating, “None of this would have been possible without the commitment of the government under PM Modi and his deep, heartfelt connection to this region.”
Scindia outlined a “whole-of-government” approach involving eight high-level task forces across key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, sports, and infrastructure.
Over the past year, MDoNER engaged extensively through nine domestic roadshows, six state roundtables, and Ambassadors’ Meets with representatives from over 95 countries.

Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita expressed pride in the region’s transformation, “It fills me with immense pride and joy to witness the remarkable transformation the North East has undergone under the visionary leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji.”
Highlighting development, it was noted that national highways in the region grew from 10,905 km in 2014 to 16,207 km in 2024, airports doubled, and 694.5 MW of power capacity was added.
