A day after Mayawati removed her nephew Akash Anand from his roles as the Bahujan Samaj Party's (BSP) national coordinator and declared political heir, she slammed the Samajwadi Party (SP) for commenting on the matter.

This comes after SP national president Akhilesh Yadav when asked about the matter, indirectly acknowledged alleged collusion between BSP and BJP and urged voters "not to waste their vote" by voting for BSP.

In a series of posts on X, Mayawati said, "It would be better if the extremely anti-Dalit SP does not comment or worry about what is going on in the BSP organisation."

She urged the SP leadership to instead only worry about the condition of their family members and the candidates of the Yadav community who have been fielded in the elections because their condition is very bad.

In the third phase of Lok Sabha elections held yesterday (7 May), three members of the Yadav family were in fray -- Akhilesh's wife Dimple and his cousins Akshay and Aditya from Firozabad and Badaun respectively.

"The behavior, character and face of SP, as always, is that of a party which is strongly opposed to the rights of Dalits, backward castes and reservations given to them in the Constitution," she added.

She attacked the SP for ending reservations in promotions and tearing the bill in Parliament in this regard and changing the names of districts, parks, universities etc in Uttar Pradesh named after "Bahujan Samaj" persons.
