India's pilgrimage paradox: A modern dilemma

Dear reader,

Imagine stepping into an age-old temple, expecting tranquility but finding chaos instead. This is the paradox gripping India's pilgrimage scene.

While infrastructure around these sacred sites has advanced leaps and bounds, the actual temple experience? Not so much.

Recent incidents like the viral video of a devotee injured at the Srirangam temple, and the tragic death of a girl in a long queue at Sabarimala, spotlight this issue. Despite efforts by the likes of PM Modi with projects like the Kedarnath and Kashi corridors, the overall temple experience for many devotees remains lackluster.

If we don't fix this now, future generations will be completely off put by the temple going experience. What steps can we take to preserve the sanctity and enhance the experience of the temples?
