Four days from now...
Dear Reader,
Four days from now my home town Coimbatore will mark 25 years since a horrendous serial bomb blast attack shook the city. More than fifty Coimbatoreans died that day in the bomb blasts. The city's economy took several years to return to normal, pushing thousands of us into poverty and decline. Nobody has kept track of how the injured fared.
Even as the 'bomb blast anniversary' approaches we're seeing political parties openly promise votebanks about releasing convicts - the very people who set up those bomb attacks - on the premise that they've served their sentences. The idea is to see if releasing these convicts helps win a section of voters.
The released convicts are even doing videos for social media circulation. Oh, by the way, the city only recently saw a suicide car bomb attack (that had thankfully gone wrong or prematurely exploded)
I find it sickening.
