India has launched Operation Sindoor to dismantle terror infra in Pakistan
10 May: Pushed To The Edge, Pakistan Requests Ceasefire, India Agrees
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Saturday (10 May) said that Pakistan reached out to India, and the two countries negotiated and agreed to a ceasefire.
This comes after days of military escalation and heightened tensions between the neighbours as India launched operation Sindoor to wipe out terror infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK.
"The Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan called the DGMO of India at 15.30 hours (3.30 pm) this afternoon. It was agreed between them that both sides would cease all firing and military action on land, in the air, and at sea with effect from 1700 hours (5 pm)," Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said.
10 May: Top LeT, JeM Terrorists Killed In Indian Strikes In Pakistan, PoJK On 7 May: Report
The Indian Armed Forces reportedly eliminated several high-profile terrorists affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in the airstrikes conducted as part of Operation Sindoor on 7 May in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
Among those neutralised were Maulana Yusuf Azhar—one of the masterminds of the IC-814 hijacking—JeM’s weapons trainer, and key operational figures involved in terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.

10 May: PM Modi Meets Top Defence Officials At His Official Residence
Amid ongoing India-Pakistan tensions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (10 May) held a high-level meeting at his official residence in New Delhi.
The meeting at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg residence of PM Modi, was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Army chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh and Navy chief Dinesh K Tripathi, among others.
The meeting took place after India's strikes at four airbases in Pakistan in the early hours of Saturday in reply to Pakistan's attack on 26 Indian locations. Read more here.
10 May: Army 'Pulverizes' Terrorists Launchpads Near LoC
As part of Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army has 'pulverised' terrorist launchpads located near the Line of Control.
The Army stated that the launchpads were “a hub for planning and executing terror attacks against Indian civilians and security forces in the past,” and said they were “pulverized and razed to cinders.” The Army described the action as delivering “a significant blow to terrorist infrastructure and capabilities". 10 May: After Asim Munir, Rubio Calls EAM Jaishankar
Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, emphasising the urgent need for both India and Pakistan to de-escalate and resume direct communication to prevent further conflict.
The development came amid a sharp escalation in tensions, as Pakistan alleged that three of its airbases were targeted by Indian missiles and drones early Saturday (10 May). Read more here.
In the readout released by State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce on Saturday, Rubio stressed that "both sides need to identify methods to de-escalate and re-establish direct communication to avoid miscalculation."
Rubio had earlier spoken with Pakistani Army Chief General Asim Munir and called for de-escalation.
10 May: India Says Pakistan Deploying Troops To Forward areas
In a press briefing on Saturday, the government said that the Pakistani military is trying to escalate the tension as the Pakistani troops are being moved to forward areas to make the ongoing conflict more volatile.

10 May: Rubio Dials Pakistan Army Chief, Offers US Help In Easing India-Pak Tensions
United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Saturday (10 May) spoke with Pakistani Army chief General Asim Munir and called for de-escalation amid ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.
He also offered US assistance in starting constructive talks to avoid further escalation.
"Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir earlier today. He continued to urge both parties to find ways to deescalate and offered U.S. assistance in starting constructive talks in order to avoid future conflicts," US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said in a statement.
10 May: Indian Army Destroys Pakistani Posts Near Jammu Used For Tube Drone Launch
The Indian Army carried out precision strikes targeting Pakistani posts and terrorist launch pads located across the border near Jammu.
These posts and launch pads were being used to launch tube-fired drones.
"Pakistani Posts and Terrorist Launch Pads from where Tube Launched Drones were also being launched, have been destroyed by the Indian Army positioned near Jammu," news agency ANI reported quoting defence sources.
10 May: India Strikes Pakistani Air Bases After Islamabad Escalates Tensions
Pakistani media on Saturday (10 May) stated that Indian aircraft launched air-to-surface missiles targeting three Pakistan Air Force (PAF) bases in the early hours of the day.
According to a statement by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the missiles were aimed at PAF Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, PAF Murid base in Chakwal, and PAF Rafiqui base in Shorkot, Jhang district. (Read more here).
“All PAF assets are safe,” Lt Gen Chaudhry said, adding that most of the missiles were intercepted before impact, and those that landed near the bases caused no significant damage.
The incident prompted temporary closure of Pakistan’s airspace. The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) confirmed that airspace across the country was closed from 3:15am until noon, halting all flight operations during that period.
The strikes are being reported as part of an escalation in cross-border tensions. As of now, there has been no official statement from Indian authorities regarding the reported missile launches.
This comes after Pakistan launched multiple drone strikes at over 20 locations in India on Friday (8 May) night.

The Indian government has fast-tracked approval for the electricity transmission line of the 1,000 MW Pakal Dul hydropower project in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district.

9 May: Amid India-Pakistan tensions, BrahMos Manufacturing Unit In Lucknow To Be Inaugurated On 11 May
Amid ongoing tensions with Pakistan, India will inaugurate a BrahMos missile production facility in Lucknow on 11 May, aiming to manufacture 80–100 supersonic cruise missiles annually.
The Rs 300 crore unit, part of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, will be launched by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The Defence Corridor, announced by PM Modi in 2018, includes six nodes and has attracted investment proposals worth over Rs 28,000 crore.

8 May: Masood Azhar's Brother Rauf, Mastermind Of IC-814 Hijacking, Also Killed In Operation Sindoor Airstrikes: Report
India has reportedly eliminated Abdul Rauf Azhar, the operational chief of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and mastermind of the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, during Operation Sindoor strikes in Pakistan’s Punjab province.
JeM later confirmed the deaths. Rauf Azhar played a pivotal role in the hijacking that led to the release of Omar Saeed Sheikh, who later murdered journalist Daniel Pearl. Despite being banned in 2001, JeM continues to operate in Pakistan.

In a pre-dawn operation on 7 May, Indian armed forces conducted cross-border precision strikes under ‘Operation Sindoor’, eliminating over 80 terrorists across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK).
The action follows the 22 April Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. Pakistan claimed eight civilian deaths and called the strike a “blatant act of war.” In retaliation, it launched heavy shelling across the LoC, killing three Indian civilians.
The Indian Army posted a video with the caption “Justice is served”, and continues proportionate retaliation to ongoing Pakistani firing.
